What might be available in Seattle...

I really want to stay in Seattle during this summer (because then it will be easier for me to visit Canada), but right now I am just trying to find any cheap place in any state and city, where I can stay through the summer while in the States, through my friends and friends of their freinds and so on. I think I can find something through the Internet, but if it will be someone I know, or at least some of my friends know, then I will feel more safe about renting a place from this person.
What will be good for me is basically any room or apt or part of house or just something appropriate for living for no more than 300$/month.
Meanwhile, one of my friends sent me a link to check the available real estate for rent in Seattle, and I was quite surprised (not to say more) to find a number of good deals like this (not sure, if they are ready to rent it to a Russian, but anyway):
