Starbucks No.1 and visiting with friends
>> Wednesday, August 27, 2008
This summer is really very special to me, as while I am in the States I get to meet a lot of my friends that I regularly hang out with in Moscow. Coincidentally they all go to same places as me at some point, and so we have wonderful opportunities to meet and spend awesome time together:)
Today I was spending day with Kerri, who arrived here in Washington to visit with her cousins, and Rick and Alex. Later on we were joined with Mandi, also my friend.
In the morning we drove to Seattle and visited the first Starbucks ever, founded near Pike Place Market in 1971 by 5 teachers. It was really special to get a cup of vanilla latte from the most famous Starbucks in the world.
Later on we hopped on the city-water tour on the Seattle Duck. This is a very significant attraction in Seattle and gives a great impression of the city, especially a great option if you don't plan to spend too much time in Seattle and still want to get a taste of it. It was fantastic experience, and more about it in my next post: we had a fabulous tour-guide, and of course I took tons of pictures; but again, that's the next post.
After fabulous tour around the city we met with our other friend Mandi and then drove to Kent, where Kerri's cousins live. It was amazing visitng with them and getting to know a little more of Kerri's family. We had a great dinner and fellowship together.
It's so great, that Kerri will be back in Moscow in February, when we will be planning the Spring English Camp again, and we will be able to spend several months together again. She is an amazing friend. I am really glad we got to hang out together today. It was a fanatastic day.
