Broadway and Lower Manhattan

>> Thursday, June 19, 2008

After visiting the Observatory in the Empire State Building, I toured the Broadway all the way down to the Lower Manhattan. It took about an hour, so I wonder if New York downtown is bigger than Moscow downtown or not.
The southern part of Manhattan is a really nice district, this is the area where I would totally buy myself an apt:) last several pictures are from there, the lowest Manhattan, close to where Pier is.
Interesting thing that I noticed: all the shops on Broadway including clothes-stores and tech-stores are still there on their spots (exactly where they were during my previous visit a year ago), unlike Moscow, where in one month several different shops can be occupying the same building and then be gone.
Also I really like the idea of dividing everything into districts: like all the offices and huge business corporations are in Financial district, all the nice stylish clothing is in Fashion district and so on. Really saves time when you want to find something specific and it's easier to orient this way.
